A clean, ATS-friendly CV that recruiters can read in seconds. Download as PDF.

A good CV is not fancy, it is clear: what you did, what changed because you did it, and why you fit this job. This builds a clean one or two-page CV that both people and applicant tracking systems can read.

Why use it

  • A plain, well-structured layout is easier for applicant tracking systems to read than columns, tables and graphics.
  • Recruiters skim. Clear headings and short achievement lines get your best work seen first.
  • Keep one master CV here, then tailor the summary and bullets for each job in a few minutes.

How it works

  1. Add your name, a one-line headline and how to reach you.
  2. Write a short summary, then add each role with its dates and your achievements, one per line.
  3. Add education, skills and any extras such as certifications, languages or volunteering.
  4. Check the preview, then download your CV as a PDF.

Good to know

  • Curriculum vitae is Latin for "course of life".
  • In many countries, including the UK and the US, employers generally do not expect a photo, date of birth or marital status on a CV. Expectations differ elsewhere, so follow local norms.
  • "Responsible for sales" says what you were meant to do. "Grew sales 30% in a year" says what you did. The second one gets interviews.

Questions

What does ATS-friendly mean?

Many employers use an applicant tracking system to read and sort CVs. These systems handle simple layouts with clear headings and plain text best, and can struggle with tables, text boxes, icons and images. This CV keeps to a clean, single-column style.

How long should my CV be?

One page is often enough early in a career; two pages is common for experienced people. Cut anything that does not help you get this particular job.

Should I put a photo on my CV?

In many countries it is not expected and some employers prefer you leave it off. In others it is common. Follow the norm for the country and industry you are applying in.

Is my CV stored by you?

Only on your own device, so you can come back and update it. Nothing you type is sent to us.
